This page is here to help you answer some of the simple and basic questions that you might have about poker rakeback. If the question isn’t answered here then you’re probably find it on a more detailed page of our website. There are several things every new rakeback poker player should know before they begin playing and we’re going to share those things with you so that you’re as prepared as you can possibly be.
What Is Rakeback?
Poker rooms make money by collecting a rake from every hand and tournament played. They have started to pay players back for playing by giving you a percentage of the rake back each month. Typically you can expect around 30% rakeback which can add up to quite a bit if you play a lot of online poker each month. For a detailed definition on rakeback and how it’s calculated I recommend visiting our What is Rakeback page.
How Is Rakeback Paid?
Most poker room and rakeback providers will pay you your rakeback once a month on a given day although some poker rooms do have weekly payouts available if you play enough poker. You will be able to receive your money through your poker account, online payment processor such as Paypal or through the mail.
Can My Account Be Switched To A Rakeback Account?
Your account won’t be able to be switched into a rakeback account if you already have an account with the given poker room. You also can’t open up a new account with the same poker room so that you can earn rakeback. You will need to choose a new poker room and often your best bet is a poker room that uses the same software as the poker room you currently play with.
Can I Have Multiple Rakeback Accounts?
As long as the rakeback accounts are with different poker rooms then there is absolutely no problem with having multiple rakeback accounts. For instance, you could play with both Full Tilt Poker and PKR Poker and have a rakeback account set-up with both rooms. If you get the rakeback deals with the same provider then you’ll also be able to receive payments for all of your accounts through the same account and payment method.
Rakeback Deductions
Some poker rooms will have some deductions from your rake for bonuses and promotions that you take part in so it could be possible that you have a negative day or month. If you don’t play a lot of poker during the month and you take part in a bonus then you might not earn enough to cover the deductions from the poker room. Negative funds won’t be carried over from month-to-month though so a bonus might only affect one month of your rake.
These are the common questions that most new players are wondering before they begin searching for a rakeback deal. Remember that every poker room is going to have different terms so it’s important that you learn the terms involved with each poker room so that you can make the best decision. Keep in mind the percentage of rake you receive back, fees, deductions and anything else that you might find listed in the terms.
